This all colour A4-size book is probably a little lightweight compared to the other books, but it is still quite good with many pages of colour photos. It covers Michael's career up until the end of 1994, with a table of his F1 results at the back. A couple of interesting photos in here, with a driving suit and helmet I don't think he ever raced in.
Christopher Hilton's book is in many ways the best book of the biographies, but I suspect that some readers may find some aspects of it annoying. It is by far the most technical book, with small tables of lap times and grids interspersed occasionally through the text. Covers Michael's career through to the end of 1994, with tables of his career from karts to F1 at the back.
Updated version of the above book. Details are a bit hazy as I don't have the book; it covers the 1995 season up until Canada.
This book is probably the best book to read if you want to find out more about Michael's career, without delving so deeply into the technicalities. More coherent than Hilton's book, it also covers Michael's career to the end of 1994 in a fairly easy to understand way, with tables of his career from karts to F1 at the back.
Again, I don't have this book. As far as I can tell, it is the same as Collings first book except with 16-odd pages covering the 1995 season.
A pit mechanic writing a book? I didn't know they could spell. Well, that would be pretty harsh because this book is well-written and goes beyond the pit lane into the daily routine of one Benetton pit mechanic. Steve gives his own personal view on happenings throughout the year, including his belief that chassis 04 is jinxed and why you won't find a B194 with the chassis number 09...well, you shouldn't anyway. Very interesting and enjoyable.
This book is authorised by Michael himself and as such contains many personal insights into his personal and racing life. This book concentrates more on Michael the person, rather than Michael the race driver, not that it neglects this part either. A thoroughly interesting and enjoyable book, this book can be read and enjoyed by people they aren't necessarily fans of Michael, due to its style and presentation.
